SINGERS:
All singers should prepare 16-32 bars, or approximately one minute, of a song in the style of the show. No acapella singing will be permitted. Actors may be stopped if they exceed the allotted time. An accompanist, CD player, and external speaker will be provided. Sheet music should be in the the correct key. Actors should come into the room, prepare quickly, introduce themselves and the song they will be singing and begin their piece. There will be a movement/dance portion of the audition.
ALL ACTORS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT IF AUDIENCE DEMAND DICTATES SATURDAY MATINEE SHOWS DURING THE ABOVE RUN PERIOD MAY BE ADDED AND SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN ANY CONFLICTS.
DANCERS/GYMNASTS/ACROBATS:
All performers should prepare for a dance combination to be taught at the call. If you attend this call you will not need to sing, but you cannot be considered for a singing role, such as Tarzan or Jane, without attending the singer call. You will also be given time to showcase any tricks, acrobatics, tumbling or relevant special skills for the show.
All actors should bring a photo (headshot preferred) to the audition along with any conflicts between the audition date and the closing performance of the show.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS/CASTING REQUIREMENTS (We strongly encourage all ethnicities to audition for all productions. Casting Breakdowns subject to change).
KALA: Female, 30-45 (Range: Alto, E3-Eb5) A gentle mother ape. Kerchak's mate and Tarzan's protector.
KERCHAK: Male, 40-50 (Range: Baritone, Ab2-Gb4) The gruff leader of the gorillas and Kala's mate.
LEOPARD: Male or Female, 25-35 A fierce carnivore that threatens both gorillas and humans.
YOUNG TARZAN: Male, 8-12 (Range: C3-E4) An innocent young boy. Loses his parents and is raised by the apes.
YOUNG TERK: Male, 8-12 (Range: G3-B4) A sarcastic adolescent ape. Tarzan's best friend.
TERK: Male, 20-30 (Range: Tenor, Eb3-B4) A sarcastic ape and Tarzan's best friend.
TARZAN: Male, 20-30 (Range: Tenor, B2-Bb4) A vulnerable, fearless young man raised by apes. Terk's best friend who falls in love with Jane. Our story's protagonist.
JANE: Female, 20-30 (Range: Soprano, F#3-F5) An adventurous young English botanist. She falls in love with Tarzan.
PORTER: Male, 50-60 (Range: Bass, B2-C4) A bumbling English professor of biology. Jane's father.
CLAYTON: Male, 30-45 A brutish, greedy hunter and guide. Leads Jane and Porter's expedition.
