Urinetown In-Person Auditions
REQUIREMENTS

Actors should prepare a 1-2 minute comedic monologue.

Additionally, actors should prepare 16-32 bars of a song that highlights your storytelling abilities. An audition accompanist will be available but you may choose to use a backing (instrumental) track for your audition. You must provide your own sheet music and/or track.

There may be a dance combo following your audition so please bring appropriate attire.

Actors may be asked to attend callbacks after their audition. Callbacks will be held in person at Osceola Arts on April 18, 7pm - 11 pm.


GUIDELINES

Auditions will be held in person at Osceola Arts on Saturday, April 11th from 6:30-11pm, and Sunday, April 12th from 6:30pm-11pm. Auditions times are available by appointment only. See requirements for more info.


Rehearsals: April 27th - July 5th (TBD)
Tech Week: Monday, July 6th - Thursday, July 9th

Performances: Fri, July 10th - 7:30 pm. Saturday, July 11th 2:00pm & 7:30pm. Sunday, July 12th 2:00pm & 7:30pm. (5 performances)

Osceola Arts is a local community theater based in Kissimmee, Florida. Housing is not provided.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN


Officer Lockstock
The tongue-in-cheek narrator of our story, he is a corrupt policeman who secretly kills off the guilty offenders. Bold, brash, and larger than life in many ways.

Penelope Pennywise
The tough, jaded warden of the poorest, filthiest town urinal. She is Cladwell's one-time lover and mother to Hope who eventually softens her temper.

Bobby Strong
The dashing, rebellious everyman who works for Miss Pennywise at the poorest, filthiest town urinal. He becomes an unsuspecting protagonist and romantic hero when he starts a revolution and falls in love with Hope Cladwell.

Little Sally
A precocious and irreverent street urchin. She serves as a quasi-narrator who often questions Lockstock and the play's logic.

Cladwell's ravishingly beautiful daughter, torn between her father and her new love for Bobby. She begins as an innocent, naive angel but becomes vengeful and determined after being exposed to her father's evil.

Joseph "old Man" Strong

One of the Poor, she is excitable and easily panicked. Optional Doubling as CALDWELL'S SECRETARY.

The evil president and owner of the Urine Good Company. He is a miserly money-grubber who gleefully exploits the poor.

Bobby's mother and Joseph's wife. A strong-willed woman with a bite, able to withstand the hard hand life has dealt her. Optional Doubling as OLD WOMAN.

Ensemble
A highly energetic Ensemble of strong performers. Lively and dynamic dancers that have multiple roles.
