The winner of 12 Tony Awards, more than any other play of any kind, The Producers will invite our audiences to enjoy an over-the-top Broadway musical while laughing uproariously at swishy, egomaniacal actors and directors; unconscionable, money grubbing producers; and the eerily strange world of financing Broadway plays all capped by the unforgettable and uproariously ridiculous “Springtime for Hitler.”
Into the Woods OVERVIEW:Book by James Lapine, Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.
Everyone who has ever thought that fairy tale endings are just a bit too sunny will enjoy this tuneful, sophisticated, ironic, and darkly funny send-up of “Cinderella,” “Jack and the Beanstalk,” “Rapunzel,” and “Red Riding Hood” in which we learn to “Be Careful the Things You Say, Children Will Listen.” A Sondheim gem, the original Broadway production won the 1988 New York Drama Critics' Circle Award and the Drama Desk Award for Best Musical; as well as a Grammy award for the original cast recording. The show was nominated for ten Tony Awards, and won three including Best Score (Stephen Sondheim) and Best Book (James Lapine). Don’t miss it.
