SYNOPSIS
Forty-seven years after WAIT UNTIL DARK premiered on Broadway, Jeffrey Hatcher has adapted Frederick Knott’s 1966 original, giving it a new setting. In 1944 Greenwich Village, Susan Hendrix, a blind yet capable woman, is imperiled by a trio of men in her own apartment. As the climax builds, Susan discovers that her blindness just might be the key to her escape, but she and her tormentors must wait until dark to play out this classic thriller’s chilling conclusion.
ROLES
Susan: Female (25-35) A young woman who recently became blind. She’s as clever as she is stubborn. Her awareness of her situation is both strengthening and crippling.

Mike: Male (35-45) A charming male with a secret up his sleeve. Well spoken and cautious.

Sam: Male (30-40) Married to Susan, is a hardworking man feeling the weight of his and Susan’s newfound situation.

Roat: Male (40-50) The smartest guy in every room. He’s smooth, quick witted, and a story teller.

Carlino: Male (35-45) A confident man who has found himself in a more compromising position than he thought.

Gloria: Female (12-16) A young girl who finds herself numb from many things due to her past. While naive she is aware of adult behavior enough to recognize its abnormality.
