9 to 5 the musical- High School Intensive

Theater West End will hold auditions for its first Musical Theater Intensive of it’s second season: 9 to 5 The Musical. This program is audition/tuition based and is open to current 9-12 grade students.

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE AUDITION INFORMATION AS SOME OF OUR POLICIES HAVE CHANGED.

Synopsis:

9 to 5 The Musical, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, is based on the seminal 1980 hit movie. Set in the late 1970s. this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous, thought-provoking and even a little romantic.

Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy – giving their boss the boot! While Hart remains "otherwise engaged," the women give their workplace a dream makeover, taking control of the company that had always kept them down. Hey, a girl can scheme, can't she?

Auditions will take place on Saturday September 21 at Theater West End, located at 115 W 1st St, in Historic Downtown Sanford. Auditions will start at 1:00 PM and are by appointment only.

Classes/rehearsals will begin on October 17 and will occur every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 4-6:30 PM. Minor conflicts will be considered, however all scheduling conflicts must be provided at the auditions and will be taken HIGHLY into consideration during casting. Scheduling conflicts arising after casting may be cause for dismissal from the program.

Performances will take place on January 10, 11, at 7:00 PM and January 11, 12 at 2:00 PM.
