THE PROM | virtual audition

Four eccentric Broadway stars are in desperate need of a new stage. So when they hear that trouble is brewing around a small-town prom, they know that it’s time to put a spotlight on the issue… and themselves. The town’s parents want to keep the high school dance on the straight and narrow—but when one student just wants to bring her girlfriend to prom, the entire town has a date with destiny. On a mission to make a difference, the Broadway stars team up with the courageous student, leading to a transformation that brings everyone together in the name of love and acceptance.

Directed by Steve MacKinnon, associate direction by Ke'Lee Pernell, with choreography by Shane Bland and music direction by John R. Mason III and Bradley Roberts, and production stage management by Tiffany Meadows-Green, The PROM promises to be a touching, hilarious, and powerful story for our community to experience together.

Looking for 16-20 strong singers to support with offstage vocals for the full throttle ensemble singing featured in The Prom! Part singing and stylistic chameleons needed as we create a spectrum of tight vocal harmonies and various timbres of sound....from high schoolers to a Broadway touring company of Godspell.

REQUIREMENTS

At Theatre at St. Luke’s, we believe every person reflects the image of God and every story has a place on our stage. We are committed to building a reflection of our beautiful and diverse community, both onstage and off. We encourage actors of all races, ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, ages, neurodivergence, religious beliefs, abilities, and experiences to audition.

GUIDELINES

Please prepare:
- 16 bars (the equivalent of a verse and chorus) in the style of the show
- A one-minute, memorized monologue.

OTHER INFORMATION

Callbacks will be IN PERSON on 5/20 + 5/21. Performers must attend an in-person callback to be eligible for casting. Callbacks will take place at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church: 4851 S Apopka Vineland Rd, Orlando, FL 32819
