INSTRUCTIONS: Please submit two 32 bar selections of musical theatre pieces of your choosing OR one 32 bar selection of a musical theatre piece and your performance reel. No rock or pop songs please! Sondheim selections are welcome but not required.

TAPING INSTRUCTIONS: If you are using a smartphone to record, please be sure to film horizontally and against a solid or clean background. At the top of your video, please slate your name and height. YouTube links are preferred, please do not utilize TikTok as your video platform.
CALLBACK INFORMATION: Callback invitations will be emailed by March 14th.
Callbacks will be in person at the Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts. If you receive a callback, you will be scheduled a time slot for either March 23th or 24th. Callbacks will be held at night.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:
The Witch (ROLE IS CAST-JODI BENSON)
Narrator/Mysterious Man- Narrator: Wry and commanding presence as the storyteller/outside observer. Orchestrating the plot. Mysterious Man: Broken, anxious and secretive. Trying to right a wrong. Emotionally resonant. Character Baritone (G2-E4)
Baker- A warm-hearted, anxious, good man who deeply wants to be a parent. Earnest, flawed, and well-meaning. Has strong comedic timing and emotional depth. Baritone (Ab2-G4)
Baker's Wife- Smart, grounded, and resourceful. Wishes more than anything to have a child. She longs for more than her current life offers, but is not exactly sure what that is. Complex arc balancing humor, determination, and vulnerability. Mezzo-Soprano with belt (F3-G5)
Cinderella- A kind, earnest, conflicted, and strong-willed woman with a warm gentleness who is consistently mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters. Comedic ingenue and storyteller. Soprano (G3-G5)
Jack- An endearing, naïve, enthusiastic, and impulsive boy. Capable of sincere emotional connection, but who is also mislead by his lack of knowledge. Tenor (A2-G4)
Little Red Riding Hood- A feisty, mischievous, bold, and surprisingly tough little girl. Strong-willed, quick witted and fearless. Comedic, with excellent timing and vocal articulation. Mezzo-Soprano with belt (Bb3-F5)
Jack's Mother- A long-suffering, practical woman. Loving of her son, but frustrated by his naivety. Mezzo Soprano (Bb3-Gb5)
Cinderella's Prince/Wolf- Prince: A vain, dramatic, handsome, and comically overconfident man. He’s the hero in his own life and was raised to be charming, not sincere. Must play exaggerated confidence and humor with ease. Wolf: Playfully predatory, conniving and humorous. Baritone (Bb2-F4)
Rapunzel's Prince-A handsome, earnest, and competitive young man. Loves to spar and challenge his brother. With strong comedic sensibility. Baritone (C#3-F4)
Rapunzel- Innocent, sheltered, and emotional, prone to fits of hysteria as the show progresses. Beautiful and floating Legit Soprano voice (B3-A5)
Cinderella's Mother/Granny/Giant- Cinderella’s Mother: appears in a tree to assist Cinderella in getting her wish. Granny: tough and comedic. Giant: powerful and intimidating. Soprano (E4-F4)
Cinderella's Stepmother- A snobbish and cruel woman, only looking out for her own agenda, even at the expense of her own daughters. Mezzo-Soprano (A3-F#5)
Florinda- Stepsister to Cinderella, sister to Lucinda. Over the-top, vain, bratty and humorous woman (C4-Ab5)
