Matilda The Musical Casting- Adults and Children

Theatre South Playhouse is pleased to announce the return of "Matilda, The Musical" this November. Now casting for Adults to portray adults, adults to portray dancing teens, teens to portray teens, and children over the age of 9.

All actors are welcome and encouraged to audition. This is a fresh take on MATILDA. Anything goes, come on out for it!

*Seeking non-union members at this time.

*We do not offer housing.

*This is for our professional production of Matilda. Our pre-professional training production of Matilda Jr will hold auditions in August. Parents please note that this production rehearses primarily in the evenings 6:15-10:45pm.

Rehearsal and Show Schedule

REQUIREMENTS

Performances:
11/6/26-11/22/26
Thurs, Fri, Sat at 7:30pm
Sat and Sun at 2pm
(Monday, 11/16 at 7:30pm - industry night)
*Possible Extension December 3-5th

Rehearsals begin the week of September 6th:
Monday/Tues/Thurs nights and Sat or Sun afternoons
Tech Week begins Thursday Oct. 29th
*Creative Team will try to be mindful of releasing younger actors earlier on school nights.
*Cast off on Halloween

GUIDELINES

Video submissions due on Tuesday, May 20th at midnight.
Please prepare:
-a short one minute song in the style of the show.
-a short one minute monologue.

-Videos are due by Tuesday, May 20th

-Returning Adult and Teen actors from our last Matilda should submit a quick video saying hi, unless they want to show us something new.

*Some Kids/Teens (and adults portraying teens) will be invited to attend a dance call on Thursday, May 28th at 6pm at our Studio Side Building.
*Some actors may also be asked to return on Friday night, May 29th at 6pm.

Only seeking children age 9 and up.

Other Info
All actors are given a stipend on top of equal share in actor tips.

Stipends are payable via direct deposit in two installments. One at the halfway point and one at the conclusion of the performances.

Miss Honey
Matilda's kindhearted teacher. She is tired of living in fear under Miss Trunchbull. She's stronger than she thinks.
