NUNSENSE!

Theatre South's professional company is now seeking video submissions for our February, 2022 run of "Nunsense" directed by Tom Vazzana, with musical director Justin Smolik.

Project description: This show follows the Little Sisters of Hoboken, who find themselves in a financial panic when the convent cook inadvertently poisons 52 sisters. To raise the funds for their internment, the remaining sisters put on a variety show.

This multi-award winning musical, including Best Off-Broadway Musical, has become an international phenomenon."

Seeking 5 women of all ages (17-70) and ethnicities, all shapes and sizes, with strong comedic skills who are fun and easy to work with.

Sister Mary Regina: (Mezzo) Strong Actress, age from 50-70. A model mother superior who is outrageous, quick-witted soul who knows how to get a laugh. She tries to convince you that she's strict but her bark is worse than her bite.

Sister Mary Hubert: (Mezzo) Strong Singer and Actress, age from 30-50. Mistress of the Novices and second in line to Mother Superior. She is diplomatic and understanding but with some encouragement is ready to kick up her heels.

Sister Robert Anne: (Belter) Strong Singer and Actress, age from 30-40. She is a streetwise nun who grew up in the projects but has a heart of gold and an aspiration to be on the Broadway. She is the understudy in the cabaret.

Sister Mary Amnesia: (Soprano) Strong Singer and Actress, age from 20-50. She is extremely innocent and can't remember her past. She is very childlike in nature.

Sister Mary Leo: (Soprano) Strong Dancer and Actress, age from 17-30. She was a professional dancer before entering the convent and wants to become the first nun ballerina. She is young and easily lead astray. *The ability to be on point preferred but not a deal breaker.

1/23 Music rehearsals @ TSP 1pm-5pm Tentative early release

1/30 Eight hour rehearsal day

Performances: A two week run February 10-20th at Theatre South Playhouse in Dr. Phillips, Orlando.

Rehearsal and performance pay.
*A limited number of AEA guest contracts may be available.
