Lawrence Arts Center (LAC) Theatre and Dance for the Very Young (TDVY) 2020-21 Season Audition Form

The Theatre and Dance for the Very Young program is seeking movers, dancers, musicians, and performers ages 16+ who are interested in creating original performances for very young children ages 0-6! All performers will be compensated.

We are holding a joint audition for two upcoming performances:

Hubbub
This is a virtual performance running throughout the month of January 2021. Connected Play Labs occur in November 2020 (Saturday mornings) with rehearsals in late November-December 2020 (weekday evenings).

in the way down deep
This is a live (socially distanced) performance running late February into early March of 2021. Connected Play Labs occur in January of 2021 (Saturday mornings) with rehearsals in January-February of 2021 (weekday evenings).

If auditioning for Hubbub, please list any scheduling conflicts with Play Lab morning rehearsals (11/7, 11/14, 11/21), weekday evening rehearsals (exact dates TBD as a cast: 11/9-12/18, 1/4-1/8), and performances TBD (likely weekends throughout January).

If auditioning for in the way down deep, please list any scheduling conflicts with Play Lab morning rehearsals (1/9, 1/16, 1/23), weekday evening rehearsals (exact dates TBD as a cast: 1/18-2/19), and performances (2/24-2/27, 3/4-3/6).

Have you worked with children in any capacity between the ages of 0-6? If yes, tell us more. If no, tell us why you want to.

Have you ever worked on a production that was fully devised from scratch as a collaborative team? Tell us more.

For our virtual work, do you have access to reliable internet and technology that has a camera and microphone (computer, iPad, etc.)?

Please list any instruments you play and your skill level (be prepared to play any instruments you list at auditions).

Do you sing or have any other experience with sound/rhythm (ability to speak multiple languages, beatboxing, spoken poetry, general noise making)?

Do you have any other skills you want us to know about (roller skating, acrobatics, whistling, etc.)?

Is there anything you want to share about your body or previous injuries (to ensure we respect your boundaries at auditions and in rehearsals)?
