REQUIREMENTS

Please upload your Picture and Resume and a short video containing:
1) A one minute song in the style of the show.
2) A one minute comedic monologue.

Video submissions are due by May 24th at midnight.

The first & second round of callbacks for individual roles will be held on Monday, June 1 at 6 PM and Tuesday, June 2 at 6pm. There will be a mandatory movement call.



GUIDELINES

All actors are welcome and encouraged to audition. We are committed to practicing diverse and inclusive casting without regard to race, ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, age, neurodivergence, religious beliefs, abilities, and experiences. This is a fresh take on LITTLE SHOP. Anything goes, come on out for it!

*Seeking non-union members at this time.

*We do not offer housing.

Performances: September 18th - October 4th
Fri & Sat: 7:30pm curtain
Sat & Sun: 2pm curtain

Rehearsals begin the week of August 2nd.
The complete rehearsal schedule is attached below.

Tech Week begins Saturday, September 12th.

All actors are given a stipend of $500 on top of equal share in actor tips.

Stipends are payable via direct deposit in two installments. One at the halfway point and one at the conclusion of the performances.

Casting Note:
Our team seeks a diverse company of versatile actors. Performers of all ethnic backgrounds and gender identities are encouraged to audition for the characters they identify with, regardless of the character gender listed here.

Character Break-Down:
Seymour Krelborn
(He/Him/They. Any Ethnicity. 21-35) A menial laborer at Mushnik’s Flower Shop, Seymour Krelborn is the improbable hero of the story. Nebbish-like and insecure, he is naive and feels much put-upon. In spite of his flaws, he’s a sweet and well-meaning little man. Seymour is the owner of the carnivorous plant, Audrey II.

Audrey
(She/Her. Any Ethnicity. 21-35) The gum-snapping secret love of Seymour’s life, Audrey works with Seymour at the flower shop. Lacking in education and self-esteem, she suffers from feelings of hopelessness at her situation in life, including her abusive relationship with her boyfriend, Orin Scrivello.

Crystal
(She/Her. Black. Late Teens-Late 20's) Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon are Greek Chorus who narrate the action, comment on the plot, and represent the voice of the neighborhood. Energetic and Street smart, with a strong sense of humor. Strong Singers and movers.

Ronnette
(She/Her. Black. Late Teens-Late 20's) Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon are Greek Chorus who narrate the action, comment on the plot, and represent the voice of the neighborhood. Energetic and Street smart, with a strong sense of humor. Strong Singers and movers.
Vocal range top: F5
Vocal range bottom: Ab3

Chiffon
(She/Her. Black. Late Teens-Late 20's) Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon are Greek Chorus who narrate the action, comment on the plot, and represent the voice of the neighborhood. Energetic and Street smart, with a strong sense of humor. Strong Singers and movers.

Mr. Mushnik
(He/Him 45-65) A Jewish immigrant and owner of the failing East Side flower shop and Seymour's nosy boss. A man who seldom smiles, but enjoys yelling in Yiddish. Yes, he's profit-driven, and a tad manipulative, but truly determined to keep his shop alive.

Orin Scrivello
(He/Him. Any Ethnicity. 25-40) An egotistical dentist with a passion for leather and sadistic tendencies. Audrey's abusive boyfriend, who is targeted by Seymour.

Audrey II
(Any Gender. Any Ethnicity. Any Age) An actor/vocalist, full, real, and fabulous. The voice is that of a conniving, street-smart 'villain.'

2-3 Roles Available to portray characters include Mrs. Luce, Skip Snip, Patrick Martin, and Mr. Bernstein. (Ensemble may double as Swings)
