Ithaca Shakespeare is accepting pre-recorded audition videos for our 2024 Summer Season.

The season will feature an outdoor production of:

ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL
Directed by Steve Ponton

“The web of our life is of a mingled yarn, good and ill together…”

Part fairy tale, part romantic comedy, part coming of age story -- and part cynical deconstruction of all of the above, All's Well is a fascinating and unique play.

It's the story of Helena, a physician’s daughter and a skilled healer in her own right, who falls in love with a young nobleman. He turns out to be interested in every woman except her...but she has no intention of letting that get in her way.

There's also a braggart soldier whose bluff is called, an uproarious mock kidnapping and a made-up language, a war, a seduction, a parade, a pilgrimage, a funeral, a wedding, a game of rings, and multiple instances of what might appear to be miracles...

SCHEDULING AND LOCATIONS:

Rehearsals are scheduled to begin May 28, 2024
Performances are July 18-21 and 24-28, 2024

Rehearsals are held at various locations in Ithaca, typically on 3 weeknight evenings and one weekend afternoon. Not all actors are called for every rehearsal. Individual schedules will vary depending on your role(s).

The rehearsal schedule will be heavier as we get closer to performances. The weekends of July 6-7 and 13-14 will probably have extended tech rehearsals on both weekend afternoons.

While we can usually accommodate a few isolated schedule conflicts, actors are expected to be generally available at our scheduled rehearsal times, especially in the weeks before opening.

All performances will be held at Robert H. Treman State Park. All performances start at 6 pm and actors are usually called no later than 5 pm.

Actors may have some pre-show / front of house responsibilities as part of the performance.

CASTING AND AVAILABLE ROLES:

All roles are open.

ISC is committed to diversity and inclusiveness in our casting practices. We embrace gender-fluid and non-traditional casting and seek actors of all races, ethnicities, and gender identities.

Most roles are cast without callbacks. If any callbacks are needed, we will arrange them with each actor individually.

We will also be looking for onstage musicians / sound effect artists. These performers may or may not have speaking roles as well, and could possibly be onstage for the entire show.

Some understudy positions may be available.

PLEASE NOTE: Our program is generally not set up to bring actors in from out of town. We do not have housing available, and actors receive a small stipend at the end of the run. We will not have any Equity contracts available this summer.
